Exploring Kirby’s Joyful World on Nintendo Switch 2

·

Kirby and the Forgotten Land was one of my favorite Nintendo Switch games. It’s a cheerful and light gaming experience that can be completed in a day. But if you want challenge and extra time, plenty is to be found just below the cutesy aesthetic. After all, Kirby is a baby Eldritch monster.

When I saw that the title would be receiving a DLC and Nintendo Switch 2 version, I knew I had to do a quick replay on my newly opened Nintendo Switch 2. Hours after the Nintendo Switch 2 midnight launch, I was trying to figure out if the upgraded hardware delivers a noticeably more stable frame rate compared to the original Switch of Forgotten Lands. Spoiler Alert! – It does. The more powerful Nintendo Switch 2 helps me to appreciate the game’s more hectic moments towards the end of the game where you can tell Sakurai really wanted to up the scale and complexity of set pieces.

Ideal for players seeking a relaxing yet engaging platformer, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a perfect pick-up-and-play experience. Its organized stage structure fits well into busy schedules, making it accessible for both longtime fans and newcomers. With DLC announced and a new installment on the horizon, now is a great time to dive into this charming adventure on the Nintendo Switch 2. Besides, its a great showcase of Nintendo Switch v Nintendo Switch 2 capabilities.

Replay Rating: 9/10 — A joyful and polished journey that’s even better on upgraded hardware.
